At 12 I was new.
New and gold,
Clean and fresh.

At 1 I was young.
Learning,
Listening.

At 2 I was living.
Bright and fun,
Full of joy.

At 3 I was real.
Understanding,
Distraught.

At 4 I was weak.
Cold and alone,
Fear in my heart.

At 5 I was growing.
Loving and free,
Happy and sunny.

At 6 I moved forward.
Taking initiative,
Planning my life.

At 7 I grew weary.
Too much to do,
So little time.

At 8 I was trapped.
Cornered by illness,
Marked by death.

At 9 I recovered.
Learned to live,
Thought once again.

At 10 I watched you grow.
Faster and farther,
Leave me here.

At 11 I watched you leave.
Happy for you,
Smiling at the sky.

At 12 I was gone.
Flying through the heavens,
Watching you cry.
